Hello everyone.
So, we moved to WA in May 2022 to start a new job. In February 2025 I was laid off, and have been conducting a job search since. I am eligible to apply for jobs at the former employer, and have had a few interviews with them, but no job offers yet. I am applying at other companies, though the application process is longer: find the company online, research job descriptions, and apply online. My engineering experience is diverse; I am a generalist; and that appears to be an issue since hiring managers need explicit, specific experience. As such, finding job matches is very challenging. I have not entertained contractor type work, though that may be the next step.
At this point, I am wondering if I should consider doing something completely different altogether, vs. engineering work; perhaps the engineering career has run its full course.
Thoughts?
Thanks
